Jyun-Han LU lives in Hualien, one of Taiwan’s most beautiful cities, nestled between the mountains and the Pacific Ocean. His work draws inspiration from the landscapes he encounters in everyday life and on his travels, blending them with his own imagination.
Through painting, LU reflects on his experiences and surroundings, capturing the vitality and sense of hope he finds in the land while exploring the unique atmosphere and character of different landscapes. With vibrant colors and a lively visual language, he brings landscapes from Taiwan and around the world into his paintings, transforming the places he encounters into vivid, imaginative scenes.
For LU, landscape represents his vision of an ideal world. He approaches nature with a childlike sense of curiosity and openness, closely observing the world around him. In his creative process, LU weaves his own experiences into each work. Like a scriptwriter, he turns the canvas into a stage where landscapes and personal stories unfold before the viewer. With a playful spirit, he deconstructs and reassembles the scenes he encounters, recreating places that have left a lasting impression or hold cherished memories.
Combining keen observation with a vivid imagination, LU uses bright colors and ever-changing geometric patterns to transform the landscapes around him into joyful visual experiences. He treasures every encounter with a landscape, and each painting becomes a landscape he has collected along the way, carrying with it his memories and deep affection for the land.
