你的遠方是什麼模樣呢？
「遠方」即「遙遠的他方」，與其說是指涉某個單純的地理座標，更像是象徵充滿陌生、未知與不確定的世界。對於蘇頤涵而言，遠方不僅是地平線外的風景，更是一個內心深處的渴望之地。我們之所以不斷追尋遠方，是因為它模糊而無限，正是這種不可觸及的特質吸引著人們，讓我們對它寄托了無限的希望與想像。
多數人的一生中經常在追尋遠方，可能是讀書、留學、進修、旅行、工作、成家，透過外部環境的轉換，尋找一些習以為常之外的驚喜與刺激，有時在外久了，家鄉反而成了遠方；而更多時候我們透過閱讀、寫作、創作、思考來試圖去尋找心中的遠方，那個遠方可以帶我們解開禁錮、逃離成見，那個遠方有著心中一切疑惑的解答。
這種追尋與探索帶有烏托邦的意義，因為無論外在還是內在，完美無瑕的遠方或許只存在於一種理想，但這份對遠方的渴求卻賦予了我們無窮的動力。即便真正的遠方可能不盡理想，但那份不斷驅動向前探尋的力量卻是如此積極與充滿希望。
這次展出的作品延續了頤涵一貫的創作脈絡，以「心象風景」構築跳脫現實的景色，試圖以非現實的視角呈現內心對遠方的詮釋。同時部分作品也從真實存在的自然景色出發，經由轉化與再現，為其注入夢境般的色彩，模糊真實與幻境的界線—夢境盛開的遠方是否有可能近在咫尺呢？
在作品的創作中，頤涵持續使用層次細膩的油彩於畫布上，色彩與筆觸一層層的堆疊、轉換、試探，正如同我們一步步往前探進，尋找遠方。
在這次展覽中，頤涵著重以系列作品挖掘內心深處對於「美好遠方」的想像，並依此作為邀請，引導觀眾去探索自身的心靈疆域。
What does your faraway land look like?
In Sylph SU’s exhibition "In Search of the Blossoming Dreamscape", Sylph focuses on a series of works that delve into her innermost imagination of a "beautiful faraway land." Through these works, she extends an invitation to the audience, guiding them to explore the vast landscapes of their own hearts and minds.
The “faraway” refers to a distant, unknown other place. Rather than a specific geographic coordinate, it symbolizes a world filled with unfamiliarity, uncertainty, and mystery. For Sylph SU, the faraway is not just the scenery beyond the horizon but a place of deep inner longing. We continually pursue the faraway because it is vague and boundless. This elusive quality is what draws us, allowing us to project infinite hope and imagination onto it.
For most people, life often involves the pursuit of the faraway—through studying, traveling abroad, professional advancement, or work. We seek surprises and inspiration beyond the ordinary through changes in our external environment. At times, after being away for too long, our hometown itself becomes a faraway land. More often, however, we search for our inner faraway through reading, writing, creating, or reflecting. This faraway is a place that unshackles us, frees us from preconceptions, and holds the answers to all the questions deep within our hearts.
This pursuit and exploration carry a utopian meaning. Whether external or internal, the perfect faraway may only exist as an ideal, yet the yearning for it fuels us with boundless motivation. Even if the actual faraway is less than ideal, the force driving us forward in exploration is deeply positive and full of hope.
Some of the works in this exhibition continue Sylph’s ongoing creative trajectory of constructing "mental landscapes"—surreal sceneries that transcend reality. These pieces attempt to reinterpret the faraway through a non-realistic perspective. Others begin with real natural landscapes, transforming and reimagining them, infusing them with dreamlike hues that blur the lines between reality and illusion. Could the blooming faraway in our dreams perhaps be closer than we think?
In her creative process, Sylph continues to use intricate layers of oil paint on canvas. The colors and brushstrokes are built up, transformed, and explored layer by layer, much like the steps we take as we move closer in search of the faraway.
